LG Alexander Laura Grace Alexander

As a founding board member of The Geneva School, Laura Grace (LG) has been involved with the school since 1993 and has served through the years on various committees of the board, including Human Resources, Building, Education, Academic Affairs, and Development. She currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors.

A fourth-generation Floridian, LG has worked in education throughout her professional career.  After serving as an Account Executive with Cargill & Associates, an advertising firm in Atlanta, Georgia, she taught secondary English Literature for a number of years in Frostproof, Florida, before moving to Orlando to pursue graduate studies. Laura Grace also served as Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the Great Teacher Program for Ligonier Ministries in Lake Mary, Florida, for five years. Additionally, she has served on the Board of Directors of Mars Hill Audio, as a member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives, as a trustee of the Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation, and currently as a board member of Atlantic Blue Group, LLC.

Laura Grace earned a B.A. in English Literature at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1983. She also holds an M.A. in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. She is currently completing her dissertation for a D.Phil. in History at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. LG is a member at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando.

Gordon Cloke

Gordon Cloke

Gordon Cloke joined The Geneva School Board of Governors in 2005, having previously served as President of the Geneva Parents Association since 1997.  Gordon lives in Winter Park and also serves as Ruling Elder at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Orlando.

Gordon graduated from University College (University of London) in 1986 with double first class honors in Philosophy and Linguistics and has retained an enduring passion for language, philosophy, literature, and the classics.  While at college, Gordon also met his wife Sarah and dedicated his life to Christ while under the teaching of Reverend John Stott at All Soul’s Church, London.  Thus were established the three-fold overlapping passions that inform his life: Sarah, classicism, and the cause of the Gospel.

Gordon and Sarah have four children, all educated at The Geneva School: Alex (class of 2006, now at Samford University), Fran (2008), Lily (2013) and Moira (2015).  Between them, at the close of the 2007-2008 school year, the Cloke children will have completed 35 (of 47 anticipated) Geneva school years!

Gordon has worked as a professional software developer on both sides of the Atlantic, having moved with his family from England to Orlando in 1992 while working for Xerox Corporation. He currently serves as Director of Program Management at Yahoo!.

John Maynard

John Maynard

John Maynard joined the Geneva Board of Governors in 1998 and has served at various times on the Audit, Sports, and Governance Committees. In addition to his work at The Geneva School, John has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA, and the national board of CareNet, headquartered in Washington, D.C., a Christian ministry which coordinates the efforts of hundreds of local pregnancy centers.

For the past 17 years, John has owned and managed several companies in the medical supply industry, specifically specializing in equipment for severe spinal disease.  John graduated from Stanford University in 1977 with a B.S. in Economics and then went on to earn an M.B.A. from the University of Texas, Austin.

He and his wife Elise have four children, three of whom have graduated from the Geneva School: Katie (class of 2002), Gingie (class of 2004), and Rachel (class of 2006). The Maynards are members of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando where John serves as a Ruling Elder.

Dan Pugh

Dan Pugh

Dan has been a member of The Geneva School Board of Governors since 2000, having served on both the Finance and Governance Committees during that time and for three years as Vice Chairman of the Board.  In addition to The Geneva School, Dan serves on the executive board of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and has previously served on the board of directors for both the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando and the Butkus Award.

For the last 23 years Dan has been a partner in Residential Building Supply, a retail supplier of both custom and production millwork to the home building industry of greater Central Florida.  Prior to entering the millwork business, Dan served as an engineer in the U.S. Army.

Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rollins College in 1981.  He and his wife Tinna have one daughter, Abigail, at The Geneva School (class of 2009).  The Pugh family lives in Orlando and are members of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Orlando, where he serves as a Ruling Elder.

John Riley

John Riley

John Riley has served on the Geneva Board of Governors since 2002.  He also serves on the board of several other private, public, and non-profit organizations. 

In 1987 John co-founded Transworld Services Group.  Prior to selling it in 1996, it had grown to be one of the largest independently owned staffing companies in the Southeast.  In 1997 John co-founded CoAdvantage, a $300 million HR outsourcing enterprise, where he served as President of ZeroChaos, a subsidiary company.  Since 1998, John has also bought and developed commercial real estate throughout Central Florida and now enjoys working full-time in that arena through his company, Legacy Fund.

John earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Rollins College in 1982 and in 1984 a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech.  John and his wife Laura met at Rollins College and have two children who have attended Geneva since Kindergarten: Shannon (class of 2013) and Brooke (class of 2015).  The Riley family lives in Winter Park and they are members of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Winter Springs.

Chrissie Schutz

Chrissie Schutz

Chrissie Schutz and her family have been at Geneva since 1996 when Elizabeth (class of 2006) entered the third grade and Zach (class of 2009) began kindergarten.  Additionally, they were involved in the initial planning group that started the Geneva Academy, a K-8th grade Christian classical school in Deland, Florida, begun in part as a spin-off of TGS.

During her tenure with The Geneva School, Chrissie has served in nearly every aspect of the school:  She has been an aide to the first grade, office manager for three years, editor of the yearbook for two years, member and past president of the Booster Club, coordinated the hot lunch program, served on the auction committee in some capacity every year, and member of the Board of Governors, serving on the Building and Governance Committees.   

Chrissie and her husband Alan are on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, specifically with the ministry of Priority Associates.  Priority Associates ministers to the business and professional community.

Chrissie has the gift of administration and a passion for education, not only for her own children, but for all children.  Chrissie and her family are members at Northland Community Church in Casselberry.

Dayle Seneff

Dayle Seneff

Dayle joined The Geneva School Board of Governors in 1998 and has served on the Education Committee and as chair of the Academic Affairs Committee.

Her own commitment to Christian education stems from her belief that cultural change comes from transforming the habits and dispositions of ordinary people, particularly children. “When we nurture habits of goodness,” she says, “we nurture hope for the future.”

She is married to Jim Seneff.  Residents of Winter Park, the Seneffs have five children, the youngest of which (Jonathan), is a student at Geneva.

Jim Seneff

Jim has been a member of The Geneva School Board of Governors since 2003 and previously served as chair of the Building Committee. He became co-chair of the Board in 2003 and has served as Chairman since 2006. He also was co-chair of the Property Search Committee. Jim and his wife Dayle have five children, including their youngest Jonathan who will graduate from Geneva in the class of 2009.

Jim is Founder and CEO of CNL Financial Group, Inc., a global real estate investment and development company. Since its inception in 1973, CNL has formed or acquired companies with more than $19 billion in assets, including hotels, retail, restaurants, seniors' housing, and lifestyle properties.

Jim’s passion for Christian education stems from his commitment to transform culture through educational opportunities that train thought leaders to be change agents in the marketplace of ideas. Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida State University. The Seneffs live in Winter Park and are members at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Orlando.

Crosland Stuart

Crosland Stuart

With a diverse background in the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas, but with particular emphasis in education, Crosland joined The Geneva School Board of Governors in 1997.  She has served in numerous capacities over the years from Sports and Education Committees to Vice-Chairman of the Board.  Currently, Crosland chairs the Building Committee.

Working as a management consultant, her primary focus these days is in the area of real estate with particular emphasis in the disposition of large tracts of land. Additionally, she has experience in manufacturing as well as various agri-businesses.  In addition to her professional work, Crosland manages the E.B. Kennedy Scholarship Program at Erskine College in South Carolina. 

Presently, she serves as a board trustee for Erskine College and Seminary, E.B. Kennedy Scholarship Program, E.C. Stuart Foundation, and E.C. Stuart Scholarship Program.  She has also served as a trustee for the Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation (newly named Lifework Leadership), Orlando Marine Institute, and as a volunteer for Florida Citrus Sports.

Crosland earned a B.S. in financial management from Clemson University in 1988 and an M.B.A. from Rollins College in 1998. She is a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando.

Rick Tressler

Rick Tressler

Rick has served on the Geneva Board of Governors since 2002, serving as chairman of the Audit Committee for most of his tenure on the Board.  He also serves on the board of other private and non-profit organizations. 

For the past 20 years, Rick has served in various financial management capacities with Fortune 500 and start-up organizations including A. Duda & Sons (1986), EDS/Newtrend (1991), Universal Studios (Mgr. Financial Reporting; 1996), and Trammell Crow Company (Regional Controller; 1999).  In 2002 Rick started a residential real estate business working throughout Central Florida and now enjoys working full-time in that arena through his companies, TCAT Realty Services and TCAT Construction Services.

Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1985 and in 1991 a Masters in Business Administration degree from the Crummer School at Rollins College.  Rick is a Florida Certified Public Accountant, a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker and a licensed Florida Residential Contractor.  Rick and his wife Julie met in Vero Beach and have two children who attend Geneva: Richard III (Trip) (class of 2013) and Katie (class of 2015).  The Tressler family lives in College Park, and they are members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park.
