PSAT & PLAN Tests
All Geneva 10th grade students take the PLAN test in late September. It is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT, an early indicator of college readiness, and a tool to help students explore careers that match their interests. Learn more at www.act.org/plan
All Geneva 9th–11th grade students take the PSAT in October. Taking the PSAT/NMSQT allows students:
- to receive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. They can then focus their preparation on those areas that could most benefit from additional study or practice.
- to see how their performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.
- to enter the competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (grade 11).
- to prepare for the SAT. They can become familiar with the kinds of questions and the exact directions they will see on the SAT. (This is especially helpful to 9th & 10th grade students.)
