Laura Grace Alexander

Laura Grace Alexander joined the TGS faculty in 2010 and teaches English II Honors. She was a founding Board member, was TGS’s first Headmaster, served as a consultant to various Christian classical schools, and for four years taught 7th and 8th grade English and then 10th through 12th grade Honors and AP English Literature in Frostproof, FL. Miss Alexander graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earned an M.A. in Theological Studies at RTS-Orlando, and pursued a Ph.D. in History from the University of Oxford, England. She has also completed Latin coursework at the University of Notre Dame.

Robbie Andreasen

Robbie Andreasen

Robbie Andreasen has taught Life Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology at TGS since 2007. He has a B.S. in Marine Science and Biology from the University of Miami and an M.A. in Bioethics from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Mr. Andreasen has taught science at The Master’s Academy and at Smith Prep, and Anatomy and Medical Terminology at Seminole Community College.

Mike Beates

Michael Beates teaches Dialectic students in the areas of ancient history and Bible. Dr. Beates earned a B.A. from Clemson University, an M.Div. and an S.T.M. from Biblical Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has been teaching at the college and graduate levels for 15 years. Dr. Beates joined the faculty in January 2008.

Grant Brodrecht
Director of Geneva Capstone, Western Civilization II, American History, American Government, Systematic Theology, Senior Thesis

Grant Brodrecht

Grant Brodrecht has been teaching at The Geneva School since 2006. In 2011 he became one of the directors of The Geneva Capstone Program, having earlier designed and overseen the Senior Thesis program. He also teaches Western Civilization II, American History, and American Government; during the 2011-2012 academic year he will be teaching Church History as part of the Systematic Theology course. He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in American History from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to that he earned an M.A. in Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of Northern Iowa. His areas of interest and expertise are in intellectual, religious, and political history, and he has taught courses at the University of Notre Dame, Belhaven University, and Reformed Theological Seminary. Dr. Brodrecht is also a twenty-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve.

Edward Chandler
Director of Geneva Capstone, Rhetoric I, Economics. Greek III

Edward Chandler

Edward Chandler came to the Geneva School as dean of students in 2007. In 2011, he became director of the Geneva Capstone. He also chairs classical languages and ancient history. Dr. Chandler received his Ph.D. in Northwest Semitic Philology from The Catholic University of America, where he taught Biblical Hebrew, Syriac, and Classical Arabic. At Reformed Theological Seminary and at Chesapeake Theological Seminary, he taught Hebrew and Old Testament. Dr. Chandler earned his M.Div. from Covenant Theological Seminary, his M.B.A. from the University of Mississippi, where he concentrated in Economics and taught Macroeconomics and Money and Banking, and his B. S. from Clemson University. Prior to coming to Geneva, Dr. Chandler served on the board of a Christian school in Maryland and taught Latin, Bible, and Theology to upper school students at The Westminster School at Oak Mountain. He has also taught Old Testament at Ukraine Biblical Seminary.

Kevin Clark
Philosophy, Theology

Kevin Clark

Kevin Clark has been a member of the Rhetoric faculty of The Geneva School since 2004 and teaches theology and philosophy.  He holds degrees in philosophy from the University of Central Florida and theology from the Reformed Theological Seminary.  He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Humanities at Georgetown University. In addition to his work as a teacher, Kevin is a fellow of the Institute for Classical Schools and a member of the Society for Classical Learning.

Nick DeGroot
Latin II & V, AP Latin

Nick DeGroot

Nicholas DeGroot teaches Latin in both the upper and lower schools. He earned a B.A. in Computer Information Systems from Milligan College, and an M.A. in Greek & Latin Literature from the Florida State University. Mr. DeGroot taught a few semesters of Classical Mythology and Latin at FSU before coming to TGS in 2008.

Jeremiah Forshey
Pre-Algebra, English I

Jeremiah Forshey

Jeremiah Forshey joined the TGS faculty in 2010 and teaches Pre-Algebra, English I, and fourth grade Latin. Prior to coming to TGS, for six years he taught literature, logic, and math to dialectic students at Redeemer Classical School in Virginia. He also directed a number of school plays. Mr. Forshey received his undergraduate degree in English literature and computer science from Bridgewater College, and a master’s degree in English language and literature from James Madison University.

Maria Francis

Maria Francis

Maria Francis serves as the Writing Consultant for the dialectic school’s English classes.  She also acts as the ECC receptionist, works as the Parent Volunteer Coordinator, and assists in planning and executing special events. Maria joined Geneva in 2005, bringing with her thirteen years of experience working in several non-profit organizations.

Maria has a Masters in International Studies from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Scandinavian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.  Maria and husband, Mike have three children who have attended The Geneva School.

Susan Hering

Susan Hering

Susan Hering teaches Spanish I-IV. She has twelve years of teaching experience and joined The Geneva School Faculty in 2008. Mrs. Hering has a B.A. in Spanish and Ibero-American Studies from Southern Methodist University and an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College. She has studied in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Madrid, Spain.

Robert Ingram

Bob Ingram has been the Headmaster of TGS since 2003 and was a Founding Board member, serving two years as Board Secretary and then eight years as Chairman. He also serves as the Chairman of the Society for Classical Learning and is a member of the Institute for Classical Schools, which has given him the opportunity regularly to mentor other administrators and headmasters across the country. Mr. Ingram is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and has served several congregations in central Florida. For nine years he was the Senior Vice President of Ligonier Ministries. Mr. Ingram earned his M.A. at The College of Wooster and his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He recently completed a Master’s Degree in Higher Education at Geneva College.

Ravi Jain
Scientific Revolution, AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC

Ravi Jain

Ravi Jain teaches Pre-Calculus/AP Physics C-M (“Scientific Revolution”) and Calculus/AP Physic C-EM (“Relativity and Reason”). He earned his B.A. from Davidson College and an M.A. from Reformed Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to Geneva in 2003, he taught math up through AP Calculus at Seminole Presbyterian School in Tampa, Florida, and subsequently worked at various churches in an associate pastoral role. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Alcuin Fellowship, a group that seeks to refine Christian Classical education both in theory and in practice.

Keturah Kiehl

Keturah Kiehl

After earning a B.A. in Classical Studies at Hillsdale College in 2004 and an M.A. in Classical Languages at the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2006, Keturah Keihl attended the summer sessions of the American Academy at Rome and the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Ms. Kiehl joined the Geneva faculty in 2011, bringing with her five years of experience teaching Latin at Briarcrest Christian School and Memphis University School, both in Memphis, where she also coached middle school cross country and track and sponsored the Junior Classical League.

Richard Marsh

Richard Marsh

Richard Marsh teaches Rhetoric students in the areas of Algebra, Calculus, and Physics. Mr. Marsh studied physics at Wichita State University and holds a B.S. in Secondary Science Education from Friends University with certification in math and physics. He has been teaching in the classroom for 13 years and has an extensive background in individual tutoring. Mr. Marsh joined the Geneva faculty in 2007.

Christine Miller

Christine Miller teaches Mathematics to Dialectic and Rhetoric students. Mrs. Miller received her B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida and worked as an engineer in the Central Florida area for seven years. She joined the Geneva faculty in 2006.

Joe Moon

Joe Moon

Joseph Moon teaches Logic to dialectic students and Apologetics to rhetoric students. Mr. Moon earned a B.A. from Covenant College and is pursuing a Master’s degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He taught Algebra at Covenant College in 2004-2005, and began teaching at TGS part-time in January 2006. He has been full-time at Geneva since 2008.

Brian Polk
Physical Science, Chemistry, AP Chemistry

Brian Polk

Brian Polk teaches Physical Science, Chemistry, and AP Chemistry, and coaches the girls golf team. Mr. Polk earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997, and after spending  a year in Romania with Campus Crusade for Christ, he attended graduate school at UCF.  After graduating with an M.S. in Organic Chemistry, he joined the faculty at Rollins College, where he spent five years as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry.  At the end of that appointment in 2006, Mr. Polk joined the faculty of TGS.

Nathan Raley

Nathan Raley teaches French I–IV, and 12th Grade English (AP English Literature & Composition). He has taught for ten years and joined the faculty at TGS in 2006. Mr. Raley has a B.A. in French from Davidson College and a Licence de Lettres Modernes from the Université de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France.

Brian Shriner

Brian Shriner

Brian Shriner currently teaches rhetoric students in Western Civilization, Greek, and AP English Literature. In addition, he teaches Greek to our third grade students. Mr. Shriner studied at Florida Southern College, where he earned a B.A. in English, and at Trinity Seminary in Pittsburgh, where he earned an M.Div. He has 14 years of teaching experience in schools and is an ordained priest in the Episcopal/Anglican church with 13 years of experience working with families in the church. He joined the Geneva faculty in 2005.

Naomi Wise
English (7th & 8th)

Naomi Wise

Naomi Wise teaches English to her beloved seventh and eighth graders. She was educated in South Africa and has her B.A. from the University of South Africa and a Higher Diploma of Education from the University of Natal. Mrs. Wise taught at Sandton High School in Johannesburg for one year before moving to the USA. She taught English at St. John’s Academy in Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine for five years. One year of homeschooling followed before her arrival at TGS in 2004.
