If you have a question that is not answered on this page, please submit this Google Form and we will get back to you as soon as we can and maybe add your question to this page.
Why are we taking attendance every day?
The Florida Council of Independent Schools (our accrediting agency) requires a minimum number of instructional days. In addition, Step Up for Students requires that we keep accurate attendance records in order for Geneva students to be eligible for their scholarship assistance.
When are my child’s teachers available?
- Lower school teachers are available from 8 am–3 pm either by phone, text, email, WhatsApp, FaceTime, or anything that works for both teacher and parent/student.
- Upper school teachers are available from 8 am–5 pm when they are not teaching a class by phone, text, email, Zoom, or anything that works for both teacher and parent/student.
- Scott Thigpen is available for scheduling a digital meeting or phone call for college counseling from 8 am–5 pm. He can be reached at [email protected].
- Isabel O’Driscoll is available for scheduling a digital meeting or phone call for support from 8 am–5 pm. She can be reached at [email protected].
Who should I contact if we are having technical problems?
Please reach out to David Petrak (director of technology) and he will do his very best to help you out. You can reach him at [email protected] or by phone/text at 407-797-1948.
What about school events and field trips?
All out-of-town overnight trips scheduled for the fourth quarter (except the senior trip) have been cancelled. In addition, all other school events and field trips have been cancelled through April 15. Once we are absolutely certain of a date when we can return to campus, we will determine what we can resume through the end of the year. It is our intention to do as many culminating events and plays as we can.
What will happen to ERB testing that was scheduled for April 3–9?
It is mostly likely that ERB testing will be cancelled for this year. When we return to campus, teachers will want to use all the time they have to pour into the students.
What about graduation?
We are determined that our graduating class of 2020 will have a graduation ceremony … even if we have to do it at a later date than planned.
Who can we turn to if someone in our family is struggling emotionally or spiritually?
Scott Thigpen (a licensed mental health counselor) and Dr. Beates (TGS chaplain) are both available via phone, text, or video conferencing. Please reach out to them via email if you would like to chat ([email protected] / [email protected]).
How can we join together to pray for our Geneva community?
In addition to praying together as a family, Moms in Prayer is continuing to meet every Monday at 8:15 am via an online Zoom meeting. Even if you have never been able to join them in person, please feel free to jump in to lift up prayers to our heavenly father. Here is Zoom link. The meeting opens at 8 am. Contact Melissa Paul at [email protected] if you have any issues.
