The next best thing to being a student at The Geneva School is being involved as a volunteer.
Parental involvement in the life of the school has always been a vibrant element in the Geneva community experience. Whether you serve as a member of our board of governors, coach a basketball team, chair a special event, or dress up for Colonial Day—we want you to be involved.
Volunteering at Geneva is a great way to further your partnership with the school. Our field trips and events spill over with active, enthusiastic parents. Many will say, “Wow! I wish that I’d had this kind of education!
What needs to be done?
Our teachers, athletic coaches, and staff welcome parental assistance. We have both one-time and ongoing opportunities, including our SALT Serveathon, Fall Festival, Grandparents Day, the Annual Auction Gala, a variety of office needs, photography, and prayer groups for moms and dads. We even have an occasional need for parents who prefer to work at home.

Background and Driving Record Checks
In most cases, volunteers who help out at school are required to have a valid background check on file through the State of Florida’s VECHs program including fingerprinting. Situations where a background check is required are:
- Volunteers who work with students in a potentially unsupervised setting
- Volunteers who drive/chaperone students on school sanctioned trips and events where the transportation is organized by TGS staff members.
