Dawn Divine-Norman

Drama Teacher

Dawn Divine-Norman joined the faculty in 2025, bringing her love of, and passion for, acting and theatre to Geneva. She currently teaches both dialectic and rhetoric drama. Dawn fell in love with acting in high school and has never looked back. She earned a BA in drama with minors in dance and writing from Ithaca College. She went on to study, and ultimately perform, at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC. Her love of theatre took her to New York City and Los Angeles where she spent eighteen years performing on stage, in television, and in film. She also worked in the wardrobe department of multiple Broadway shows in between acting jobs. During those eighteen years, Dawn taught actors of all ages audition techniques, television acting technique, and scene study technique.

Dawn met her husband, Grant, in New York City at an end-of-year Broadway softball league party, and they married in 1999. They have had lots of adventures together, including touring the country with the national tour of Beauty and the Beast. However, their best collaboration, by far, has been their daughter, Sophie! When Sophie was six months old, they moved to Florida to be closer to family.

In 2016, Dawn saw a need for hands-on, whole-body educating, kinesthetic classes in her daughter’s life and homeschool community and established her own educational program, Inspiring Minds Day School. The program started small, but now employs eight teachers and helps educate 55–60 students per school year. Dawn has taught acting technique to students who are 5 years old to those in 12th grade, technical theatre to middle and high school students, and English language arts and history to middle and high school students. During that time she has also directed over sixteen full productions for her students.

The family currently worships at St. Luke's Methodist Church, Orlando.
