Dawn Flood

English Teacher

Dawn Flood joined the Geneva faculty in 2023 and teaches seventh grade English. With over twenty years of experience in education, she has taught K4, fourth, seventh, and eighth grade as well as classes in speech and debate, literature, humanities, drama, and theater history. During her years as a school administrator, Dawn served in various roles including teacher coach, director of academics, and, most recently, dean of students.

Dawn’s time in and around the classroom has forged the belief that the most important goal of education is to inspire students to love learning and to seek truth. Ultimately, truth is found in Christ and his Word, but everything that he created can inspire creativity, goodness, and beauty. She desires to inspire students to seek after these things in order that their education will do more than simply impart knowledge, but it will serve to further cultivate their character and direct them towards the Lord Jesus Christ: the source of all that is good and true.

Dawn studied education and theater at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana. It was there that she met her husband, Mark. Upon graduation, they were married and moved to Pennsylvania where Mark began his career in pastoral ministry. They have two children: Jedidiah (TGS class of 2024) and Arianna (TGS class of 2026). In her spare time, Dawn enjoys cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, visiting Disney with her family, and reading a good book with a hot cup of coffee and her dog, Dasher, by her side.
