History Teacher


Kelli Brodrecht teaches Western Civilization I (9th grade). She came to Geneva in 2006 and worked in a variety of positions before taking a classroom teaching role in 2009. She has taught in the grammar school, dialectic history, and moved to the rhetoric school in 2023. Kelli earned a bachelor’s in elementary education with a minor in history from the University of Northern Iowa and taught in Iowa and Massachusetts before team-teaching in a classical homeschool group in South Bend, Indiana. Kelli was the grammar school recipient of The Geneva School 2014 Paideia Award, an award that recognizes excellence in teaching.

Kelli and her husband Grant (who teaches history and government to TGS rhetoric students) have five children: Sarah ’13, Eli ’14, Ethan ’16, Thomas ’18, and Jarrett ’21. The family is actively involved in their church (St. Alban’s Anglican Cathedral). In the summer, Kelli enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and the chance to read a good book or two.
