Upper School Learning Specialist
Kirstie Reston joined The Geneva School community as the upper school learning specialist in 2026. Originally from Texas, she and her family relocated to Orlando in 2025 and are grateful for the opportunity to become part of the TGS family!
For more than fourteen years, Kirstie served students and families throughout the Dallas area in both public and private Christian schools. Kirstie earned a master of education in special education with an emphasis in dyslexia and related disorders from Midwestern State University. She is currently pursuing a master's in reading science and completing a reading science practicum for K–12 students through Mount St. Joseph University. She holds teaching certifications and licenses in both Texas and Florida, including Elementary Education, K–12 Exceptional Student Education (ESE), K–12 Structured Literacy/Reading Endorsement, as well as ACSI Secondary Reading and Biblical Studies.
Passionate about the science of reading, Kirstie has pursued extensive training in structured literacy and dyslexia intervention. She holds a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) credential through ALTA, the Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (C-SLDS) through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), and Reading Science certification through Mount St. Joseph University. In addition, she completed associate-level training (70 hours) through the OGA, and is a dyslexia therapist trained through Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She is a member of IDA, Florida-ALTA, and The Reading League Florida chapter. In addition to her work in schools, Kirstie provides private dyslexia therapy using evidence-based programs such as Take Flight, BUILD K-1, Rite Flight, JET, and Wilson Reading System. She is extensively trained in written expression, executive functioning, and study skills, enabling her to support students with diverse learning profiles.
Kirstie is passionate about helping students discover their God-given strengths, overcome challenges, and grow in confidence as learners. She is committed to strengthening and cultivating Christ-centered learning environments that support students as they persevere, flourish academically, and recognize and use the gifts God has given them as they grow into devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Kirstie enjoys spending time with her husband, Bradley, and their two sons, Keegan (class of 2036) and Luke (class of 2040). In their spare time, they are at the baseball fields, Disney World, or the beach, as well as serving and attending First Baptist Church, Orlando.
