Leigh O'Donoghue
Leigh O'Donoghue
Assistant Dean of Grammar School (K4–1st Grade)
Leigh’s journey with The Geneva School began in 2001 when she realized she had found the ideal kindergarten for her daughter, Alison. In 2004 she joined the kindergarten team as an aide and became a teacher the following year. After eight years in kindergarten, she moved to the first grade team until her retirement in 2017 when she left to manage human resources at her husband’s traffic engineering company. During the 2024–2025 school year, Leigh returned to the first grade classroom for several months which led to an invitation to become a teacher mentor in 2025–2026. In 2026 she returned to Geneva full time to work with the K4, kindergarten, and first grade teaching teams, students, and families as the assistant dean of grammar school (grades K4–1st).
Leigh grew up in Charlotte, NC, and graduated with honors from Appalachian State University with a degree in English. Upon graduation, she entered the banking world but soon learned that teaching was her true calling. She took education classes locally at Rollins College and online and never looked back. She married Florida native, Bruce, in 1989 and has lived in the Orlando area ever since. Bruce and Leigh have two daughters, Alison and Grace, who attended TGS from K–12th grade, and one granddaughter, Ava (TGS Class of '37). She is an active covenant partner at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
Leigh loves creating art and baking with Ava, going to each home Gator football game, writing children's stories, reading, cooking, and being entertained by their three standard poodles, Ace, Flash, and Luna.
