Fall Season

Football

Varsity Football

The chief goal of the TGS football program is to train young men to compete with integrity, passion, and excellence. These attributes carry over into every aspect of student-athletes’ lives, and expectations are high on and off the field. Players learn to manage their time, balancing school, friends, family, and sport. In an environment that builds athletes up and provides opportunities for them to build one another up, students develop friendships and habits that extend beyond the confines of a locker room and even their time at Geneva. The varsity team consists primarily of 10th–12th graders, while the D-League, or developmental team, consists of 7th–9th graders.

Volleyball

Girls Volleyball

The Geneva volleyball program encourages athletes to aim for excellence in the fundamentals of the game in a safe and competitive environment. The volleyball program has grown significantly since 2006, when Coach Benjumea took over as Geneva’s head volleyball coach. The varsity team alone has won 12 district championships, 6 regional championships, and a state championship in 2018. The program has had 8 players pursue their volleyball careers at the collegiate level. There are opportunities for girls to participate in the fall indoor volleyball program as early as fifth grade, and students as young as third grade are encouraged to participate in an instructional spring season.

Cross Country

Boys & Girls Cross Country

The Geneva School cross-country program strives to offer a training regimen for the experienced runner as well as the beginner. It focuses on building endurance in the early season with a heavy emphasis on strength and flexibility to support the increasing demands of running on the body. Speed work and race strategy are integrated as the athlete progresses.

The goal of the program is to cultivate within each athlete confidence, a desire to pursue excellence, and a greater understanding of how to glorify God through running. Because there is a large mental component in running, coaches care about the entire well-being of the athletes and not just their performance. A team atmosphere is cultivated where athletes of all levels encourage and support one another. There is also an intentional focus on encouraging the older students to mentor the younger students.

Golf

Boys & Girls Golf

Geneva golfers have been competing since 1999. The goal of the team is to teach and encourage young athletes in the beautiful game of golf. We desire that each individual player grows and develops not just as a player but also learns lessons useful for the whole of life. The team competes at golf courses throughout the Orlando area with the home course at Winter Pines Golf Club. Ron Wood joined the coaching staff in 2018 and John Koestner in 2022. The boys golf program contends very well in the FHSAA tournament and the girls program continues to increase in numbers and competitiveness. We compete well, learn to play well, and have a good time doing it!

Swimming & Diving

Boys & Girls Swimming & Diving

After a very successful inaugural swimming & diving campaign in 2022, the team is poised to grow and again score (points for success in the pool) in 2023. The planning for year two of Geneva’s swimming & diving team is to once again compete, wearing Geneva blue, in local meets. The team will continue to be made up of student athletes who have already received formal swimming and/or diving training (athletes are required to practice and train on their own). Students must have experience in team and competition swimming and/or diving. Students in 6th–12th grade may participate on the team. If you would like to get involved but haven’t received formal training as of yet, contact our swimming & diving coordinator, Michelle Demo, using the contact form below—she would love to help you find a pool for training.

If you are interested in joining the Geneva team but do not have a club team affiliation, we have secured space for training with the Greater Orlando Aquatics Team (GOAT) that practices at Lake Howell High School, conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Geneva. We have also secured dive instruction through the Orlando Dive Academy for anyone interested in diving. You can find out more about their clubs by visiting their websites.
