My journey into Christian classical education has been a deeply rewarding pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. It all began in Lexington, Kentucky, where a friend serving on a school board first introduced me to the classical model. After navigating a different educational system for two years, I knew there had to be a more beautiful way to cultivate a child’s mind and soul. Learning about classical education set me on a path that has continued for thirty years.
Before coming to Geneva, I spent years building foundations in the classroom. I began my career teaching kindergarten at two distinct Christian classical academies. In 2012, my passion for this model led me to help start The Habersham School in Savannah, Georgia, alongside a dedicated group of parents and teachers. Over my tenure there, I had the privilege of teaching fifth through seventh grade students before transitioning into leadership, where I served as the dean of the grammar school.
When I returned home to Florida, the Lord faithfully led me to The Geneva School, where it is a privilege to serve as the director of the grammar school. As Charlotte Mason said, “Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life,” and you can certainly feel and see that lived out when you walk the halls of our school. It is such a distinct honor to labor alongside a community of parents, faculty, and staff who are fully committed to the mission of inspiring students to love beauty, think deeply, and pursue Christ’s calling.
