Uniform: 7th–8th Grade

The table below outlines the uniform guidelines for dialectic school students (7th–8th grade).

A few items to note:

  • Appropriately sized and fitted polo shirts may be worn untucked.

  • Oxford shirts must be tucked in at all times, buttoned to the second-from-the-top button, and collar buttons buttoned down. If an undershirt (boys)/camisole or tank (girls) is worn, it must be white.

  • Skirts/skorts/shorts must be no more than 3” above the knee.

  • Students must wear a school polo or Oxford shirt beneath any school sweater.

  • Girls may wear black or navy solid-colored leggings/tights (no patterns) underneath their skort or skirt.

  • Black or navy layering shorts are required under skirts.

DIALECTIC GIRLS (GRADES 7 & 8)

Every Day except Chapel

  • TGS monogrammed polo shirt (in navy, white, or light blue)

  • Skirt or skort (in white plaid, navy, or khaki)

  • Shorts (in navy or khaki; with brown/black leather belt)

  • Pants (in navy or khaki; with brown/black leather belt)

  • Shoes should be comfortable and practical, in a color and style in good taste. Closed-toe athletic or dress shoes are encouraged. Sandals are also allowed but must have a back strap. Shoes that are not permitted include flip-flops, Crocs, slides, slippers, high heels over 2″, and shoes with inappropriate graphics.

Chapel

  • TGS monogrammed short- or long-sleeve Oxford shirt (in white)

  • Skirt or skort (in white plaid)

  • Black, brown, white, or navy leather closed-toe dress shoes (with heels no higher than 2”)

DIALECTIC BOYS (GRADES 7 & 8)

Every Day except Chapel

  • TGS monogrammed polo shirt (in navy, white, or light blue)

  • Shorts (in navy or khaki)

  • Pants (in navy or khaki)

  • Belt (in brown or black, optional)

  • Shoes should be comfortable and practical, in a color and style in good taste. Closed-toe athletic or dress shoes are encouraged. Sandals are also allowed but must have a back strap. Shoes that are not permitted include flip-flops, Crocs, slides, slippers, and shoes with inappropriate graphics.

Chapel

  • TGS monogrammed short- or long-sleeve Oxford shirt (in white)

  • Pants (in khaki)

  • Belt (in brown or black)

  • Geneva tie or bow tie (in navy/dark crimson)

  • Black, brown, or gray leather dress shoes

Outerwear

  • TGS monogrammed sweater/cardigan/fleece (in navy or gray)

  • Uniform sweatshirt from the TGS school store

PE Uniform

  • Any Geneva T-shirt

  • Blue or black athletic shorts (girls: minimum of 4-inch inseam)

  • Tennis shoes

Additional Options for Friday
Any Geneva top (e.g., TGS polo; team or club shirt/sweater/sweatshirt; or TGS shirt purchased through the school store) may be worn with uniform skort, skirt, shorts, or pants.
