Kyle Hughes

PE Teacher

Kyle Hughes joined The Geneva School in 2023 and has served in a variety of roles. Those roles include teaching, substitute teaching, administrative work, coaching, and mentoring. Kyle currently serves as the physical education teacher for K4 through second grade.

Kyle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in management and administration of educational programs from Nova Southeastern University. He has Florida teaching certifications in physical education and educational leadership. Over the past twenty years, Kyle has worked as a paraprofessional (teaching assistant), PE teacher, school-based administrator, and district-level administrator for Seminole County Public Schools. Prior to joining The Geneva School, he served as the director of student assignment and program access, in which he oversaw all of the public school choice options available in Seminole County. While each career progression resulted in the ability to impact larger numbers of students systematically, Kyle began to miss the opportunities to connect on an individual level with students and families.

Kyle and Jennifer have two boys enrolled at Geneva, Landon (TGS Class of ’33) and Grayson (TGS Class of ’35), and they are amazed to see just how much the boys love school every day. They marvel at the way their imagination, curiosity, and faith are fostered and cultivated by the wonderful team at TGS. The Hughes family worships and serves at Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs. Kyle is happiest anytime he is with his family, and they love to create memories during their family adventures. They enjoy road trips, sporting events, movies, baking, football (Go Pack Go), basketball, soccer, golf, and just about anything active. The family would not be complete without mentioning their loveable dog, Baxter.
