Russ Kapusinski

Headmaster

Russ was part of Geneva’s faculty in the early years (1996–2003) prior to moving to Southern California to plant a church on the US/Mexico border in 2003. While living in San Diego, Russ also assisted in the start of a new Christian classical school called The Cambridge School. During his tenure in Southern California, Russ served as the lead pastor of Harbor Presbyterian Church for sixteen years, mentored church planters, and served as co-director of a citywide church planting center. During Russ’s tenure in San Diego, he served as assistant head of school, upper school principal, and theology teacher at The Cambridge School from 2014 to 2023.

Russ was ordained in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) in 1998 and has served in several leadership posts in vocational ministry ranging from churches, parachurch ministries, and Christian schools for the past three decades. He holds a BA in Speech Communications from North Park University in Chicago and an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary. Russ earned his Doctor of Ministry from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis in the field of cultural apologetics and communications.

Russ is married to Diane, and they have three children: Josh (Grove City College ’23), Caleb (Grove City College ’25), and Kate (TGS ’26). The Kapusinskis love great food, vacationing in the mountains, and feasting with friends as a foretaste of the new heavens and new earth. Russ is an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and Cleveland sports devotee having grown up in Northeastern Ohio. Diane is the more adventurous Kap: she enjoys traveling, skiing, hang gliding, and all things related to new experiences.
