Rhetoric and Debate Team Teacher
Joshua joined the Geneva faculty in 2024. He currently teaches rhetoric to ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders as well the debate team, a rhetoric elective class. He earned his BA in English at Grove City College, PA.
Joshua was born in Central Florida but moved to San Diego, CA, when he was three years old. He first encountered Christian classical education when he transferred to The Cambridge School in San Diego in eighth grade; he remained there until graduation in 2019. In high school, Joshua became very involved in speech and debate. He was ranked 59th in the nation for USA Public Forum Debate according to the Institute for Speech and Debate official rankings in 2018, placed 15th in the state of California in 2018, earned awards from four national circuit tournaments, including Stanford University and California State University Long Beach, and was a two-time qualifier for the Tournament of Champions at the University of Kentucky.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys writing science fiction novels, reading books, playing basketball, and watching films. In 2022, Joshua published his first novel, The Awakening, the first of a science fiction series called The Wars of the Republic. He worships at NewCity Orlando Presbyterian Church.
