The goal of The Geneva School basketball program to educate and teach our student athletes the game of basketball with confidence, commitment, and integrity. We aim to teach our athletes respect for themselves, their peers, and the community through the game of basketball. We strive to give a competitive environment while instilling Christian principles and values. In addition to the youth sports basketball program which also takes place during the winter season, The Geneva School basketball program currently offers a middle school girls team, and a middle school boys and a varsity boys team.
Jermaine Reynolds took over as head varsity boys basketball coach in 2014 after coaching the middle school boys team since 2012.
Jermaine’s short life can be summed up with one word, “service”. From his days at Maynard Evans High School serving in various organizations, to his college days at Valencia serving in the Student Government Association, as well as his time serving at Frontline Outreach for over eleven years, and even now where he serves at Every Kid Outreach it’s been all about service. Although his mother and father are awesome parents, Jermaine’s grandmothers had a powerful influence on his desire to be a man that follows Christ. Jermaine has served his church and community for many years in various capacities of leadership. He currently serves as assistant pastor of his church. He is also a basketball coach at the annual Michael Jordan “Flight School” camp in California where serves alongside his wife Michelle, the executive director of Every Kid Outreach. With over ten years of coaching experience, and as a former player himself, Coach “J” is someone who uses the game of basketball to teach life lessons and build Christ-like character.
Jermaine married his wife and “life teammate” on August 28, 2010, and their love for God’s people is not restricted to within church walls. They both share the same passion for teaching, developing tomorrow’s leaders, and helping people identify and fulfill their purpose in life. This tag team is committed to having fun and enjoying life! They don’t take their close friendship with one another for granted, and strive to show that marriage done God’s way totally ROCKS!
Inspiring students to love beauty, think deeply, and pursue Christ's calling.
