5th Grade Science Trip
This trip is an opportunity for our fifth grade students to build community and study Florida science and ecology, bringing in elements of nautical history they have studied in class. Students will travel to Tarpon Springs where they will tour Anclote Key and have a scavenger hunt on the island. They hear the history of the Greek people coming to settle in Anclote and how they started the sponge diving industry. And, they eat at a Greek restaurant and sample ethnic foods. Students also tour a local aquarium and hear about Florida animal and marine life. The students will stay overnight for two nights at Cedarkirk Camp & Conference Center in Lithia, Florida, and participate in recreational activities that promote team-building and bonding as a grade level.
